Taxation Associate, July 1998 – June 2000

  • Consulted major multinational corporations, including Intel, Lucent Technologies and PepsiCo on corporate, personal, international taxation, tax planning opportunities, equity and operating structures, foreign capital commitments.

  • Conducted strategic research and identified Russian tax liabilities for AT&T's acquisition of IBM's global Internet practice.

  • Helped the leading Russian natural gas producer to save $40 million annually in taxes through obtaining tax relief and favorable taxation on its interest payments to Western lenders.

  • Developed e-business strategy for the Russian subsidiary of Hearst Publishing.

  • Organized tax conferences for current and prospective clients in order to acquire new business for the firm that resulted in a 28% increase of the client base over two years.

Billing Coordinator, February 1998 – June 1998

  • Decreased the internal billing cycle from one month to ten days and cut administrative costs by reducing the involvement of professional staff.

  • Monitored clients’ investments, performed credit risk analysis, controlled the billing and collection process. 

  • Promoted to professional staff seven months ahead of other colleagues.
