4. INVITATION
FIRST TUESDAY ZURICH:
We are looking forward to an outstanding panel of industry
leaders in broadband for next week. We hope that you can join us
Tuesday, April 4 at the SWX Swiss Exchange, Selnaustrasse 30.
http://www.swx.com/swx/vc_zh_en.html
We're returning to a larger space at the SWX Swiss Exchange as a
result of the strong interest in this hot topic.
Our panel, hosted
by Markus Gisler, Editor-in-Chief of CASH, will cover the most important
issues for the future of broadband: Can the promise of broadband
be realized? What will be the winning business model – push or pull?
What is the future of broadband usage and how will that impact our
daily lives at home and in the office? Will Switzerland meet the
challenge to wire up – as Sweden announces a government led initiative
to "guarantee broadband internet access for all Swedes in two
years"?
Peter Rudin,
Founder and CEO of UPAQ, has been a pioneer in multimedia and broadband
for many years (Peter founded MAC and "the blue window",
the leading Swiss ISP). He brings a great combination of the pragmatic
and visionary when speaking about the impact of broadband and the
challenges of the backbone.
Bruno Aebi,
Sales Director Switzerland, joins us from The Fantastic Corporation.
Fantastic is one of the great Swiss success stories, with a very
successful IPO on the Neuer Markt in Germany last year, and strong
potential in developing the leading standard in broadband communication.
Their client list reads like a "Who's Who" of the world's
telecom and media companies. Bruno will bring the view from the
battlefield of Europe and broadband penetration.
Peter Fischer
is responsible for broadband licenses in Bern, as the Deputy Director
and Head of Telecommunication of the Bakom (Bundesamt für Kommunikation).
The Government perspective of the
regulatory issues in broadband infrastructure are crucial to the
future of broadband in Switzerland.
We are delighted
that Professor Beat Schmid, University of St. Gallen, Head of New
Media Institute will be completing our panel. Professor Schmid is
one of the leading academics worldwide in New Media and Entertainment
over Internet, and has some challenging views about the content
of broadband.
Anyone who wants
to know the future of the future shouldn't miss April 4th! We will
meet at the SWX Swiss Exchange, next Tuesday, April 4 at 6:30. We
will start in the Visitors Center at the Exchange, which is in downtown
Zurich at Selnaustrasse 30. We have a lot of capacity for people
