Networking with APTE and Biotechnology

As a network with a technology focus, we are interested in expanding our areas of interest to all new technology and biotechnology developments. We believe this expansion represents an important step forward. Biology is, contrary to many other fields in science, just beginning to be understood by mankind. The genetic revolutions as of the seventies have launched an exponential progression of the number of discoveries and new technologies, particularly at a time when innovations are becoming harder to find in other fields.

Nevertheless it is becoming more and more difficult for a single institution to cope with the high financial and technology requirements of today's and tomorrow's scientific challenges. This is leading companies and institutes to set up collaborative projects and ventures. Support for these is precisely the explicit goal of the APTE network, in particular the promotion of multi-field projects: The network is at the crossroads between many different fields such as finance, science, technologies, communication, marketing, government and interfaces between all these.

We believe that, as a biotechnology company or institute, you will find many valuable contacts and potential partners and investors in the APTE member list. APTE is not a static construct, it functions with the dynamics of a biological system. We directly address and respond to your specific questions and problems. As an active member, there are many tools at your service: For instance, you can invite other members you want to meet to an APTERO or other marketing events, attend meetings at special APTE discounts, contact other members directly and much more!

In order to best meet your information needs, we are keeping track of innovative private and/ or public companies and institutes of all sizes. We have just written an article for a leading Swiss biotechnology magazine and APTE member. The article illustrates a concrete example of multi-field collaboration, in this case between Micro-Technology and Computer Science which result in the development of non-invasive simple photosynthetic activity assays for environmental and plant biotechnologies.
